What is Jewelry?

This is onyl a brief introduction about what’s exactly the meaning of ‘jewelry’.
Well..according to some resources..jewelry is definitely a personal ornament. It can be further subdivided to bracelet..ring or necklace and etc.

Usually it is made from precious metal and even gemstones or any other materials that contains some value in it.

The word ‘jewelry’ is derived from the word ‘jewel’ which was anglicized from the Old France ‘jouel’ circa the 13th century.According to the latin word, the ‘jewelry’ that we call today comes from tha latin word of ‘jocale’ which means ‘plaything’.

The oldest known jewelry are made from ‘nassarius shells’ that is recently found at the age of 100,000 year-old..and you should know that this jewelry that I’m talking about now is one of the olders forms of body adornment.

Nowadys, jewelry are created for a decoration but back to the earlier times, jewelry was created for practicle uses such as storage and pinning clothes together and wealth too.

For your information, the first pieces of jewelry were made from natural materiels such as wood, animal teeth, shell, and bones and even carved stone..Usually jewelry are made for people of high importance to show their status. In many cases, they were buried with it.

In todays world, jewelry has been made for almost every body part such as nose jewelry, earing jewelry, toe rings and so on.High quality jewelry usually made from precious metal and gemstones while a growing jewelry demand nowadays is an art jewelry that their prices is determine by design and creativity and not by the materials value that it is made of.

In addition, there is the less-costly costume jewelry that is made from less-valuable materials and mass-produced.New variations include wire sculpture(wrap) jewelry, using anything from base metal wire with rock tumble stone to precious metals and gemstones.
